Who is Dave
Crosby?
David Crosby is an author, quality management consultant, and software developer-publisher. His Statistical Process Control (SPC) software was the first SPC software program offered for the personal computer.
He started out a "B" level test technician in 1958 wit Martin-Orlando where he worked with this brothe Phil Crosby. Dave's career advanced through the quality ranks to Zero Defects Program manager for Sharpe Army Depot. Later, he served as Corporate Quality Director. for RCA, General Instruments, and Portec Inc.
The U.S. Army awarded Dave the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal for his work in the Army Zero Defects program. The highest award the Army gives a civilian. Both Phil Crosby and Dave Crosby have been awarded this award.
In 1980, he created The Crosby Company to develop software and training programs for quality control. His other books include How To Get Your People To Do Things Right; NBS Quality; and Quality is Easy.
After 50 years in the "quality business," Dave decided to write one last Quality book. His goal was to create a book that an executive could read on a plane ride; something a group of leaders could use for discussion. He limited himself to just 100 pages to explain how a leader can reach Zero Defects performance.
Dave says, "Keeping within the hundred page limit was the hard part. It would be much easier to write a 400 page book."Dave and his wife Marcia live in a tiny Illinois farm community where he writes mystery stories (Chasing Charlie Chan - Amazon.com), and she does oil painting.
